If you have the top pick and have no intention of trading it Dave Casper Jersey , why not just make it clear what you’re doing?Well, the Cardinals aren’t subscribing to that this year. Maybe the Commish wants them to keep up the intrigue to make fans tune in from the start of the draft. Whatever the case, the Cardinals are playing their part to a tee. To the point that they’re claiming to keep the draft’s top four prospects in mind, and according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, are going as far as to contact Quinnen Williams to let him know he’s still in the running.Despite their seeming waffling, few predictions are waffling on theirs. Most still believe the pick will be Kyler Murray, including ESPN’s Adam Schefter who said on ESPN that “All signs” point to Murray as the top pick.Even with the Cardinals taking Josh Rosen in last year’s draft, the talk is still about going QB again and trading Rosen. Should they go in another direction, it would figure to be a vote of confidence in Rosen.Quinnen Williams is worthy of the top pick so if he’s still there at four Derek Carr Jersey , he is certainly a possibility for the Raiders.Follow @LeviDamien How does the staff at Silver & Black Pride view the Raider’s selection of Johnathan Abram with the 27th overall pick?"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Raiders StoriesScheduleRosterStatsYahoo Raiders NewsYahoo Raiders Team PageYahoo Raiders ReportYahoo Raiders Depth ChartYahoo Raiders TransactionsYahoo Raiders PhotosOdds About Masthead Community Guidelines StubHub ✕2019 NFL Draft: Immediate reactions, grades of Raiders selection of safety Johnathan Abram with the 27th overall pickNew,152commentsHow does the staff at Silver & Black Pride view the Raider’s selection of Johnathan Abram with the 27th overall pick? PDTShareTweetShareShare2019 NFL Draft: Immediate reactions, grades of Raiders selection of safety Johnathan Abram with the 27th overall pickVasha Hunt-USA TODAY SportsAfter adding Clelin Ferrell and Josh Jacobs, the Raiders selected Mississippi State safety Johnathan Abram with the 27th overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft. How does the staff at Silver & Black Pride view the selection? Tyler GreenWhile Oakland signed Lamarcus Joyner in free agency, he is projected to primarily lineup in the nickel leaving Paul Guenther with just Karl Joseph and Erik Harris as safeties. The addition of Johnathan Abram significantly improves the depth of the secondary, as he can immediately step in as a box safety. Abram has solid range, but his best attribute is his physicality as he can set the tone of a defense with his style of play. NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah pegged Abram as his 23rd overall player in this draft, so the value is solid for Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden. Grade: B+BD WilliamsFirst what you love when watching Abram is the urgent speed he plays with on the field. Easily the fiercest hitter at the safety position in this class Antonio Brown Jersey , Abram is tough and incredibly physical. That being said he has shown a concerning lack of discipline when in coverage and gives up long passes with regularity because he’s so focused on coming up and making a play against the run. He played mostly in the box as an extra linebacker at Mississippi State and has a long way to go before he can be an every down NFL safety. Basically a younger Karl Joseph.Grade: CMarcus KrauseJohnathan Abram is not someone I anticipated the Raiders selecting, he does not help the Raiders pass defense nearly enough to warrant selecting him at 27. If they wanted a safety then Nasir Adderley is the one I would have preferred, simply because his ball skills are so much better. The area that Abram does excel at is his tackling and run defense, he is a physical safety who definitely knows how to hit. Hopefully this pick works out better than I picture though, because the last thing the Raiders should have went after was another player who isn’t very good at playing the ball in the air for their secondary.Grade: CThomas WheatonJohnathan Abram seems to me like Karl Joseph 2.0, so why would the Raiders take him when Joseph is still on the roster? Abram is a box safety that is a sure tackler, but his coverage leaves a bit to be desired. The Raiders needed someone to cover tight ends. Can Abram do that? If he shows that he can, we will look back on this pick and
