Lottery winner revealed; winning $3M ticket sold in Mercer

    Martha Agnew of Linesville was identified Tuesday as the winner of the $352,625 jackpot from the June 13 drawing of the Cash 5 game. On June 15, the Pennsylvania Lottery released information that a jackpot winning ticket from that drawing had been purchased at the Lakeside Stop-N-Go, 12211 Lakeside Drive, Conneaut Lake, but the winning ticket hadn't been claimed.

    On Tuesday, the winner's name was released after the Tribune filed a formal Right-to-Know request July 13 with the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue for the person's information.

    Agnew's Cash 5 ticket matched all five balls drawn, 16-19-24-26-27, to win the jackpot of $352,625 before taxes while Lakeside earned a $500 bonus for selling the ticket.Agnew's win will net her more than a quarter-million dollars after the deduction of federal and state taxes.

    According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, the $352,625 winning ticket is subject to a total of 27.07 percent in taxes — 24 percent federal tax and 3.07 percent state personal income tax. The federal and state taxes are based on the entire prize amount.The $352,625 prize will have $84,630 deducted in federal taxes and another $10,825.59 in state taxes for an after-tax payout of $257,169.41.

    Meanwhile, a $3 million-winning Diamond Dazzler Scratch-Off ticket was sold at Leomart, 854 Perry Highway, Mercer, the Lottery announced Tuesday. No winner had been verified. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket, according to the Lottery.
