The Latest on a suspected drunken-driving crash that killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and another man (all times local):2:45 p.m.
Indiana prosecutors are seeking a DNA sample from the Guatemalan man charged in a drunken-driving crash that killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and an Uber driver.
Ryan Mears is chief trial deputy for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. He says the request stems from the numerous aliases used by the suspect.
Investigators say the suspect Josh Rosen Jersey Cardinals , 37-year-old Manuel Orrego-Savala, has twice been deported from the U.S. and was illegally living in the country at the time of Sunday’s crash in Indianapolis. Along with Jackson, the crash killed 54-year-old Jeffrey Monroe.
Mears says investigators want to compare the DNA to samples taken from inside the pickup truck that hit and killed the two victims along Interstate 70.
Mears says the tests will help determine Orrego-Savala’s identity and presence in the truck. But he notes that there’s already ”pretty strong circumstantial evidence in the case.”

An Indiana prosecutor is decrying President Donald Trump and others for politicizing the case of a Guatemalan man charged in a drunken-driving crash that killed an Indianapolis Colts player and his Uber driver.
Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry says he’s disheartened by what he calls ”ghoulish and inappropriate public commentary” surrounding the Sunday crash.
The Democrat is handling the criminal case against the suspect, 37-year-old Manuel Orrego-Savala. He was charged in Marion County on Wednesday with four felony counts.
Curry says comments from Trump and others about the man’s immigration status fail to acknowledge the deaths of men killed: Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and his Uber driver, Jeffrey Monroe.
Trump tweeted about the case Tuesday, saying it’s ”so disgraceful” that Jackson was killed by a person who was in the U.S. illegally. Trump also prodded Democrats to work with him on illegal immigration and border security.

The attorney for a Guatemalan man charged in a drunken-driving crash that killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and another man says his client is distraught and confused.
Defense attorney Jorge Torres spoke Wednesday after a Marion County judge entered a not guilty plea for his client, 37-year-old Manuel Orrego-Savala.
The case has gained attention from President Donald Trump and others in the immigration debate. Authorities say Orrego-Savala has twice been deported from the U.S.
Torres says his client’s immigration status has no bearing on the crash case. He notes that Orrego-Savala has been living in Indiana for several years and doing construction work in the Indianapolis area.
Orrego-Savala is facing four felony counts stemming from the Sunday crash. The charges include causing death while driving intoxicated. The two most serious counts each carry maximum sentences of up to 20 years in prison.

A Guatemalan man living illegally in the U.S. said little as he faced a judge after being charged in a drunken-driving crash that killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and an Uber driver.
A Marion County judge entered a not guilty plea for 37-year-old Manuel Orrego-Savala during a court hearing Wednesday.
He’s charged with four felony counts related to the crash early Sunday along Interstate 70 in Indianapolis. The charges are causing death while driving intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
Orrego-Savala’s only responses in court were answering through an interpreter as the judge explained the proceedings and charges.
Police say the 26-year-old Jackson and his 54-year-old Uber driver, Jeffrey Monroe Youth Tracy Walker Jersey , were standing outside Monroe’s car along the interstate when they were struck by a pickup truck Orrego-Savala was driving.

Marion County prosecutors on Wednesday charged 37-year-old Manuel Orrego-Savala with four felony counts related to the Sunday crash along Interstate 70 in Indianapolis.
The citizen from Guatemala was due in court Wednesday morning for an initial hearing on the charges of causing death while driving intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
Authorities say Orrego-Savala was deported from the U.S. in 2007 and 2009, and he was again living illegally in the U.S., in Indianapolis.
Police say the 26-year-old Jackson and 54-year-old Uber driver Jeffrey Monroe were standing outside Monroe’s car along I-70 when they were struck by a pickup truck that Orrego-Savala was driving.

Federal authorities have filed a new immigration charge against a Guatemalan man suspected in a drunken-driving crash that killed Indianapolis Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and another man in Indiana.
U.S. Attorney Josh Minkler announced the change Tuesday night, ahead of an expected announcement Wednesday on possible state charges against 37-year-old Manuel Orrego-Savala.
Orrego-Savala was arrested following the crash early Sunday along Interstate 70 in Indianapolis. Investigators say Jackson and his Uber driver, 54-year-old Jeffrey Monroe, were standing outside Monroe’s car when they were struck and killed by a pickup truck driven by Orrego-Savala.
Authorities say Orrego-Savala was deported in 2007 and 2009, and was living illegally in the U.S. at Before he left town a few weeks ago after working out for the Seahawks, Brandon Marshall picked up a little bit of Seattle-related gear at the airport.
He was that confident an opportunity to continue his career was going to happen with the Seahawks.
”I went in there and bought a couple of things Cheap Avonte Maddox Jersey , some shirts, socks because I knew that moment was going to happen. I felt good about the workout,” Marshall said.
Marshall became the latest addition to the Seahawks when he signed a one-year deal Wednesday and was immediately on the field as Seattle continued its second week of OTAs. Marshall displayed some of that gear he bought when he announced on social media his intent to sign with the Seahawks.
His work was limited in his first day, understandably, but it was a sign of how quickly Marshall wants to get this latest – maybe last – phase of his career started.
Marshall is coming off an abbreviated 2017 season where he was limited to five games with the New York Giants due to an ankle injury that required surgery. He was due to make $5 million this season with New York but was released by the Giants in mid-April. At age 34, Marshall said he didn’t have many options after he was released.
”I think the sentiment around the league is that I’m done. And I get it, rightfully so, when you get on the other side of 30 and your production slips and you have a big injury. People count you out Authentic Cliff Pennington Jersey ,” Marshall said. ”It was an interesting process. It was a humbling process.”
While Marshall had his ankle repaired surgically, he also had surgery on his toe for an injury suffered during the 2015 season while with the New York Jets. The combination of procedures extended Marshall’s recovery, and it was only just before being released by the Giants that he was able to progress beyond just rehabilitation from the surgeries.
Marshall said he was originally going to wait until he retired to have the toe surgery.
”That’s the thing that took the longest. Right when I was released from the Giants, probably a few days later I was able to run pain free. I was able to run routes and do things and train while rehabbing, but it wasn’t pain free. … I’ve been working ever since. I feel good. I don’t feel great. Obviously I’ve got a lot of catching up to do.”
Getting Marshall to Seattle is the fulfillment of a wish coach Pete Carroll had early in his tenure with the Seahawks. At that time, Marshall was in the prime of his career and Seattle wanted to make a show of its lakefront practice facility by bringing him in on a seaplane for the visit.
”We flew him into the dock or something like that. It was crazy,” Carroll recalled. ”We went all out. It didn’t work out. We’ve had our eye on him for a long time because of his style of play. Very aggressive. Can be the big receiver in the offense and his playmaking has always been something we’ve kept our eye on.”
The question for Seattle and Marshall is what kind of role he can play now. Carroll has made it clear this offseason that the team is going to be rededicated to the run, but Marshall could certainly be a desired red zone target thanks to his 6-foot-4 frame and the absence of another player like him on the roster. Marshall said he had a very candid conversation with the Seahawks during his visit.
”The process they take you through in terms of the screening process is worse than the TSA line,” Marshall said. ”They did their due diligence to say the least and really broke down everything since I’ve been in the league and had some great conversations, some transparent conversations, some challenging conversations and I had to answer some tough questions.”
