  Chemical imports in India continue to increase despite the fact that our chemical industry is making great progress in the production of high-quality goods for industrial use. Chemicals form an important aspect of manufacturing and agriculture in India. From building architectural structures to pesticides to plants, chemicals are needed by our industry every day. There are some items that chemical importers in India specifically get from outside.

   

  

   

  To understand the quantum import of chemicals in India, we need to understand the fact that there are two broad categories in which chemical importers deal with: import of organic chemicals and import of inorganic chemicals. Imports of organic chemicals mainly support the agricultural industry, while inorganic chemicals are used in various industries such as the paint and dye industry, and manufacturing industries.

   

  Here are some of the most imported chemicals in India

   

  1. Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate: This chemical is usually not produced in India and therefore needs to be imported. Chemical importers get this product because it is mainly used in the production of rigid polyurethanes used in the plastics industry.
  2. Cyclic hydrocarbons: These are other chemicals that have many features in the list of chemicals imported in India.
