The 12-5 New England Patriots come into this game looking more vulnerable than they have in years. Tom Brady is finally beginning to show signs of age related decline. Rob Gronkowski is no longer the unstoppable force he once was; he has taken a terrible beating over the years and it is beginning to show. Josh Gordon is lost to yet another substance abuse suspension. The secondary is old and beginning to show it. The Patriots put together an unsightly 3-5 record away from Gillette Stadium this year. These are not the nearly invincible Patriots we have gotten used to seeing. Yet for all their uncharacteristic vulnerability, the Patriots still managed to destroy the Los Angeles Chargers last week and now stand just one game away from the Super Bowl.
