Mike Richards will not be bought out by the Los Angeles Kings. Kings general manager Dean Lombardi told the Los Angeles Times in an interview Friday that Richards will remain with the team but must improve in training. "The biggest thing in the meeting with Michael - the important thing - is that he realized hes going to have to make some adjustments in his offseason training," Lombardi said. The 29-year-old forward has six years remaining on the 12-year deal he signed prior to the 2008-09 season with the Philadelphia Flyers worth a total value of $29 million.
