  Use a local computer repair tech rather than a big box company. A local repair tech is more likely to have more experience than the PC repair techs at a big box company. Often times, big box companies employ techs that come straight from school and have little to no experience.
  
  

  Check out the company's testimonials. If the PC repair company doesn't have any testimonials on their pamphlet or Website it indicates poor service. Read the reviews on Google and other review sites. If there are a large amount of positive reviews, chances are the company is legitimate. Try to find out if they've had a lot of repeat customers because this indicates great service. It's also good to find a computer repair company through a friend or family member's recommendation.
