The game's pre-patch already went live, which is essentially the first step in any World of Warcraft expansion's full release. A pre-launch event begins November 10, as well, which will feature the Scourge, and the first raid will begin on December 8. This raid, Castle Nathria, will also mark the beginning of the game's Season 1 content.
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is the first expansion for the game since 2018's Battle for Azeroth, which received a mixed reception. Characters at higher levels will have them scaled down, which should make it simpler for new players to get into the game.
