CGCC Supported The 3rd China International Import Expo

    On November 25th, 2019, China General Chamber of Commerce-USA supported The 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE) Road Show event held at the Bank of China Building in Manhattan.     Since 2018, The China International Import Expo (CIIE) has been held annually in China to introduce businesses around the world to the Chinese market and serve as a platform to do business, strengthen cooperation, and promote trade.Deputy Director of the China International Import Expo Bureau, Liu Fuxue, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, Gu Chunfang, and Chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce-USA; President and CEO of Bank of China USA, Xu Chen, attended the New York Road Show event and delivered keynote speeches.

    In his speech, Liu Fuxue, Deputy Director of the China International Import Expo Bureau, shared the achievements of the Second China International Import Expo, which took place this past November. Mr. Liu explained that the expo involved the participation of more than 3,800 companies from 181 countries and regions and more than 500,000 buyers, resulting in $71.13 billion dollars worth of tentative deals.At the event, Gu Chunfang, Commercial Counselor of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York explained that during her 10 months working in New York with Consul General Huang Ping, many members of the American business community have already expressed a strong interest in participating in next year’s Import Expo.
    During his speech, Xu Chen, Chairman of China General Chamber of Commerce-USA ; President and CEO of Bank of China USA, spoke about his own experience attending the Import Expo back in November. Mr. Xu expressed that although there is some trade friction between China and the United States, nothing has stopped American companies from valuing and being enthusiastic about the Chinese market.

    The Road Show closed with a signing ceremony between Jeff Zettel, Associate Vice President of the Global Client Group at Aramark in Pennsylvania, Chen Liaorui, Executive Chairman of the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Ohio and the China International Import Expo Bureau.
