Rob Gronkowski said earlier this week he was open to a new deal. The Patriots tight end didn’t get that Demaryius Thomas Jersey , but he did agree to a restructured deal Thursday.
The Patriots added $1 million in per-game bonuses and $3.3 million in incentives to Gronkowski’s contract, raising his maximum value for 2018 to $13.05 million, Gronkowski’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told PFT.
Gronkowski will make the full amount if he鈥檚 on the 46-man roster for 16 games and hits three of four performance triggers: $1.1 million for 80 percent play time; $1.1 million for 70 catches; $1.1 million for 1 Sean Lee Jersey ,085 yards; and/or $1.1 million for nine touchdowns.
That is one more yard, one more catch and one more touchdown than Gronkowski had last season. He played 79.3 percent of the team’s snaps.
Gronkowski was due to make $8 million in base salary and $750,000 in per game roster bonuses this season. He didn’t earn a $250,000 workout bonus in the offseason, choosing to stay away and train on his own.
The Patriots added $5.5 million in incentives to Gronkowski’s deal last season to go with his $4.25 million base salary for 2017.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin has won the 2018 George Halas Award from the Professional Football Writers of America.The Halas Award is given to a NFL player Giovani Bernard Jersey , coach or staff member who overcomes the most adversity to succeed. Goodwin had a career year on the field while dealing with family tragedies during the 2017 season.
Goodwin was signed as an unrestricted free agent last year. His wife, Morgan, lost a premature baby boy due to complications during pregnancy on Nov. 12. Hours later, he caught an 83-yard touchdown pass, the longest by a 49ers player since 2014. He blew a kiss to the sky before crossing the goal line Derrick Kindred Jersey , and dropped to his knees in the end zone in prayer, overcome with emotion.
Goodwin also went through the loss of his biological father in December, then was carted off the field after being injured in the season finale. He finished with 56 receptions for 962 yards and two touchdowns and was third in the NFL in reception average at 17.2 yards.
He is the 50th Halas Award winner.
Other 2018 nominees were Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen, Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, Giants tackle Nate Solder and Vikings coach Mike Zimmer.
