导出博客文章ROME -- Lorenzo Insigne scored two early goals as Napoli edged Fiorentina 3-1 to win the Italian Cup in a final marred by pre-game violence on Saturday. Jesse Barfield Jersey . A fan was in serious condition following a shooting on the outskirts of Rome before the match. As a result of the shooting, in which an off-duty police officer was also reportedly injured, the final started 40 minutes late, and there were scenes of violence inside the stadium with a firefighter injured by fireworks thrown from the stands by Napoli supporters. The pre-kickoff tension didnt seem to bother Napoli, however, as Insigne quickly put the southern squad ahead 2-0. Insignes first goal came 11 minutes in with an angled shot that bounced in off the post. He doubled the lead in the 17th by finishing off a counterattack with a shot that deflected in off defender Nenad Tomovic. Peru midfielder Juan Vargas replied for Fiorentina in the 28th with a blast from the edge of the area. The Viola nearly equalized in the 45th but a goal from Alberto Aquilani was annulled for offside. Napoli finished with 10 men when Gokhan Inler picked up his second yellow card for a foul from behind on Josip Ilicic in the 79th. Ilicic had a golden chance to equalize in the 85th but shot wide. Napoli substitute Dries Mertens added another goal in the second minute of added time. "It was a great game," Napoli first-year coach Rafa Benitez said. "It seemed we were in control at the start then they scored but we were able to win with 10 men in the end." It was the fifth Cup for Diego Maradonas former club, with its last coming in 2012. In Serie A, Napoli sits third. One positive note for Fiorentina was the return of Giuseppe Rossi, who came on for the final 18 minutes. It was Rossis first action since January, after his latest knee injury, and boosted his chances of making Italys World Cup squad. In the pre-match violence, several other fans were also reportedly injured, although the circumstances of the shootings were not clear. "I hear that the fan who was shot has been operated on and hopefully is out of danger, so we dedicate this Cup to him," Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis said. Inside the stadium, Napoli captain Marek Hamsik went over to talk with the fans and calm them down before kickoff. There was more chaos at the final whistle when Napoli fans invaded the pitch to celebrate, although they were quickly brought under control to allow the trophy ceremony to go forward. "It certainly wasnt a great scene, what we displayed today alongside football," Italian football federation vice-president Demetrio Albertini said. "For a football lover like me, it was an ugly display." Yangervis Solarte Jersey . Smith, an eighth overall pick, had two goals in only 276 minutes of playing time over 16 appearances last season. The left side midfielder played only 43 minutes in three games this season. Curtis Granderson Jersey . Huntelaar also had a penalty saved by Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio. The two goals brought Huntelaars total for the season to 18, level with Bayern Munichs Mario Gomez for most in the league.CLEVELAND -- Josh Gordons wait is over, so is his 2014 season. The star wide receivers career is now in peril. The Cleveland Browns learned Wednesday that Gordons indefinite suspension by the NFL has been upheld and he will miss at least 16 games for another violation of the leagues substance abuse policy. A repeat drug offender, Gordon had appealed the penalty, hoping it would be reduced so he could play this season. The NFL, though, came down hard on Gordon, who must now pay the price for stepping out of bounds. The league announced that arbitrator Harold Henderson supported Gordons yearlong suspension for marijuana use. The Pro Bowler, who was subject to more frequent testing, will begin serving his suspension immediately and the league said in its statement that his "eligibility for reinstatement will be determined following the 2014 season." In the meantime, Gordon is not allowed to practice with the team, attend meetings or other club functions. The Browns had no immediate response to the ban. They had feared for months this would be the outcome, and now that its official, the club will have to somehow make up for the league-leading 1,646 yards, 18.9 yards per catch and nine touchdowns Gordon produced last season. "Id like to apologize to my teammates, coaches, the Cleveland Browns organization and our fans," Gordon said in a statement. "I am very disappointed that the NFL and its hearing office didnt exercise better discretion and judgment in my case. I would like to sincerely thank the people who have been incredibly supportive of me during this challenging time, including my family, my agent, my union, my legal team, and the Cleveland Browns staff." While hes out, Gordon, who served a two-game suspension for a drug violation last season, will need to pass drug tests, comply with treatment and apply for reinstatement with Commissioner Roger Goodell before he plays again. Gordon could possibly return inside a year if he stays clean. Gordon met with league officials in New York on Aug. 4 to appeal his suspension. As the days past, there was growing speculation he might not be punished to the letter of the collective bargaining agreement. But Henderson sided with the leagues initial ruling after an exhaustive process. The Browns have known Gordon could be banished for some time and theyve been eager for a resolution to his case, which hung over their training cammp. Roberto Alomar Jersey. He continued to practice and played in Clevelands first three exhibition games. Gordon fought the suspension by hiring attorney Maurice Suh to represent him at the appeal hearing. Suh, who had successfully gotten a suspension reduced for Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman, argued that Gordon tested positive for marijuana due to secondhand smoke. Gordons representatives also said test results of his samples were inconsistent and should be thrown out. There was speculation the league might go softer on Gordon following the public outcry after Baltimore running back Ray Rice was suspended for two games on a domestic violence charge. Instead, the league put Gordon on the sideline for all 16 games and will wait to see how he behaves before deciding whether to let him back. Gordon didnt help his cause with two legal issues as his case dragged on. He was charged with drunken driving after his arrest in Raleigh, North Carolina, on July 5. In May, he was stopped for speeding in Strongsville, Ohio, and one of the passengers in his car was cited for marijuana possession. The talented 23-year-old led the league with 1,646 yards receiving last season despite being banned from the first two games for a failed drug test. It was his second known violation as a pro and Gordon said he had inadvertently taken codeine contained in a prescription cough syrup. Gordons loss is a crippling blow to Clevelands offence, depriving the Browns of their best big-play threat. Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Cameron is now the teams primary target, and he may find himself double-teamed and without open spaces to run routes now that Gordon is missing. The Browns took a risk in selecting Gordon in the 2012 supplemental draft, forfeiting a second-round pick to take the speedy 6-foot-3, 225-pounder who failed at least three drug tests in college for marijuana abuse. The team has vowed to do all it can to help and support Gordon. During training camp, owner Jimmy Haslam said the team never considered cutting him. As he awaited word from the league, Gordon was noticeably different. He dropped passes and seemed detached during an exhibition game in Washington. Recently, he posted a photo on Instagram of himself on the practice field catching a pass from rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel. Gordon captioned the photo, "Only place I can find peace."
